The Banner Saga 1 And 2
Versus Evils The Banner Saga often finds itself in the penultimate spot on our strategy lists. This year is no different as it remains a beautiful, unique and storied tactical strategy game. While it boasts a small measure of loot and character progression, the games focus on tactical combat drops this title firmly in the strategy category for us.
Set in a dark fantasy world, a sort of faux medieval Northern Europe shared by humans and varls, giant humanoids with ox horns. The Banner Sagas narrative premise twists and builds on standard fantasy tropes. It does much the same with it simple, elegant tactical battles. In combat you have two main stats to worry about. Instead of hit points, strength functions both as a damage modifier and HP. In order to reduce strength/HP, your strength has to be higher than your opponents armor. If the differential is high enough, armor is ignored. Otherwise you have to break the armor down. Fittingly as strength is reduced so is your opponents capacity to damage you. This simple, elegant system pays dividends in term of providing varied and unique tactical choices. Additionally, under the hood are a host of other stats that add depth both to combat and managing troop builds.

Total War Battles: Kingdom
Total War Battles: Kingdom is for those who are bored playing Clash of Clans and its clones. The games base-building and battle elements are unique, especially for a person who hasnt played a Total War game before.
The games small-scale battles cant be compared to massive Total War battles on PC, but they are still playable and offer some great tactical opportunities to gamers. Battles take place on separate battlegrounds, where two rival factions deploy their most able troops, command their units, and use special abilities and tactics to seal victory for their army. You will need to train and order units to attack, make the most of special church orders, and employ standard tactics to win battles.
Kingdoms base-building elements will force you to make changes to your stronghold according to the maps terrain and strict building rules. Its tough to manage your kingdom in this game, but once you know the rules and weather and terrain types, it will become a bit easy for you to construct the right buildings, fortify your base and build a strong army. The game is bit on the harder side, so it will definitely appeal to hardcore strategy fans.

Ark: Survival Evolved by Studio Wildcard/War Drum Studios
Ark: Survival Evolved, a dinosaur-themed survival game, is one of the most enjoyable Android gaming experiences you can have where you play offline solo or connect and play with others. Its the best of both worlds! Ark is a blend of first-person survival and exploration, placing you on a large island full of dinosaurs.
To survive, you must collect resources and craft structures, clothing, weapons, and gear. Theres also a story hidden away in there too. Be warned that its a rather hefty app, so youll need Android 7.0 or higher to run it.

World At War: Ww2 Strategy Mmo
This is an excellent network strategy game set in the times of all the same World War II.
The game features various historical figures: Zhukov, Rommel, Patton, and others.
You start out as the head of the troops of one of the powers participating in World War II.
You will have to develop your base from scratch. From building houses and factories to researching new technologies and creating military equipment.
Besides, you have to take care of the resource base for rapid development. And that means you cant do it without exploration.
A huge variety of missions will accelerate the development of not only the city but also your commander in chief. Once you are strong enough, you can go to war with other players or take over neutral territories.
Bad North: Jotunn Edition
Bad North: Jotunn Edition is a real-time strategy game in a shoebox. Rather than sprawling battles found in the likes of Total War, scraps in Bad North are confined to tiny islands your squads defend from invading Vikings.
As you win battles, with the hordes always just one step behind, you gradually acquire new skills. Squads can become archers or pikemen, the former being useful for ranged attacks, and the latter for keeping enemies at bay during the time it takes infantry to arrive.
Although originally for PC, Bad North comes alive on a touchscreen, as you direct your armies by taps, and spin an island with a finger. The bite-sized battles are great for scratching the RTS itch when youre on the go although completing the entire campaign is something that will require plenty of grit and experience.

These Are The 5 Oculus Quest 2 Games To Play First
If you’ve just received an Oculus Quest 2 as a gift or purchased one for yourself, you might be wondering where to start. While we have a rather large list of the best Quest 2 games, it can be difficult to identify even just five games to try first. You may find a game that looks interesting, but the controls or experiences can be daunting, and virtual movement can make new VR players feel a little woozy.
That’s where we’re hoping we can help. We’ve chosen five games that feature unique experiences tailor-made for VR. Each of them also makes it easy for first-time VR players to quickly jump in and enjoy the action without needing to get adjusted to virtual movement. We made sure to select a variety of games that will hopefully pique your interest, including different gameplay styles and themes.
But we’re not stopping there. Once you’ve chosen a game and are comfortable with it or even completed the game we’re giving you a bonus recommendation to move on to next. The second game typically follows a similar gameplay theme but typically requires you to be a bit more comfortable with VR than you might have initially been. So without further ado, here are the 5 Oculus Quest 2 games to play first!
Wars Across The World
Presenting a universal take on the war game system, Wars Across The World tackles a range of scenarios and settings from across history. You could be fighting in the forests of Tannenberg one minute, storming the beaches of Normandy the next, before finally taking on the Syrians in the Six Days War.
We were very impressed with how well the mechanics translate from era to era, offering a consistently fun and challenging experience. Bespoke flavour is introduced via the card system, which can offer meaningful tactical and strategic choices. The base game only comes with the tutorial and one additional scenario -hence the cheap price but so far none of the cheap scenario offerings have disappointed. The Berlin 1945 scenario is currently our favourite.
