What I Learned From Lively’s Customer Service

Jitterbug Touch 2 Smartphone Review

As for my customer service experience, I learned why Lively received the North America Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Service Leadership.2 I spoke with a representative named Martin from the Carlsbad call center, and he was exceptionally kind, patient, and forthcoming. Here’s what I learned during my chat with Martin:

  • Lively’s call centers: Lively’s call centers are only U.S.-based, and the company prides itself on being the top senior phone specialist. It’s reassuring to know that a knowledgeable representative will be there to answer my call and my questions at any time.
  • Helping seniors navigate technology: Martin explained that while other companies are giving up on flip phones, Lively is embracing them, knowing that this is a vital accessory for active seniors. As for smartphone customers, he said the team is also ready to provide additional guidance for those who are new to a touchscreen device. That extra level of support is a must-have in my book.
  • Getting set up with Lively: When I asked Martin about tips for setting up the Lively phones, he directed me to a page on Lively’s website where there are step-by-step setup videos for both phones that include useful diagrams, so you can pause and review as you go. Lively phones are also delivered with a handy user guide that gives a detailed account of every single function and feature.

Similarities And Differences Between The Jitterbug Smart2 And The Jitterbug Flip Phone

After dissecting the Jitterbug Smart2s capabilities in detail, the Jitterbug Flip Phone needs to be mentioned. The Flip Phone, also known as a Lively Flip, does not offer the advanced features of its smart counterpart but is reminiscent of the flip phones of the earlier years.

Instead, it takes an even more simplified approach. With its pared-down basic elements and overall focus on talk and text, the Jitterbug Flip Phone is a more basic alternative for seniors.

The two Jitterbug phones both offer some of the same essential services that are offered by the Lively Health and Safety Package. They also have boosted powerful speakers to help seniors understand each other.

Pricing is where they begin to differ. Theres about a 50$ difference between buying a Jitterbug Flip Phone and the price of a Jitterbug smartphone, the former costing 99.99$.

Monthly Flip Phone plans begin at 14.99$ while the ones for Smart2 begin at 17.48$.

The Flip Phone has a large screen accompanied by big buttons in contrast to the Smart2s 5.5 size touchscreen surface. The Jitterbug Flip has a simple analog Yes/No Menu while the Smart2 has a simple list-based menu. The Smart2 has access to voice-typing, mobile internet, and mobile apps while the Jitterbug Flip does not.

How To Replace A Sim Around The Edge Of The Phone

Amazon.com: GreatCall Jitterbug Smart Easy

If your phone doesnt have a removable back, then youll need to examine the outside edges of the phone to find the SIM tray. Its a small bay with a little hole on one side, like in the following image.

To remove it, youll need a SIM removal tool. Most phones come with one in the box, and you can buy them for very cheap, but you can also just use a small paperclip in a pinch.

To eject the SIM card tray, slide the removal tool into the hole and push. The tray might eject easily, or you might have to push with a bit of force. Either way, it should pop out without a ton of pressure. After it pops out a little, pull it out the rest of the way.

When youve got the tray out, remove the old SIM and drop the new SIM in placethe tray is notched to match the card , so you cant put it in backward.

Just pop the tray back in the way it came out , and youre good to go. Nothing to it!
