One of the most commonly reported issues with Android devices is the dreaded No SIM card error message This problem can be quite frustrating since you cant make calls, send texts, or even access the internet when its in that state.
You might have tried restarting your phone and looking for clues in your settings menu, but nothing works. The error message can result from several different causes, but unfortunately, theres no single solution thatll fix it for everyone.
In this article, were going to take you through the steps to troubleshoot your specific situation so you can get back up and running in no time.
Way : Check The Sim Card Tray

Turn off your Android device and remove the SIM card from it. There is a chance that dust accumulates on your Android phone and it is creating a problem where the SIM card comes in contact with your devices internal circuitry.
Procedure: Blow dust from the SIM tray, gently wipe the SIM card, do not damage any of its components> Return the SIM card to the tray and power on the device> Check that it is working.
If the problem persists, try using another SIM on Android if your Android phone is unlocked. Therefore, you will be able to confirm whether the SIM card is faulty or your device needs further troubleshooting. If another SIM card works on your Android, then your SIM card is a problem. Your device is fully capable of reading the SIM card, but a damaged SIM card may cause the problem. In this case, you must bring the SIM card to your carrier.

Clear Android Cache And Data
Sometimes, the solution to this issue is clearing your devices cached data. Take note that things may take a little longer to load next time, and you will probably have to log in to some of your apps again.
Clear your Android Cached data:
1. Go to Settings > Storage.
2. Look for Storage Settings.
3. Select Internal Storage.
Remove And Reinsert Sim Card
I dont think you need another tutorial to reinstall a sim card in your device. Just remove the sim tray from the device and restart the device and then reinsert it to the device.
- Activate the flight mode.
- Remove the Sim card from the Sim tray then place it back in.
- Push the tray back into the slot.
- Boot the device.
Once youve removed the SIM card from the device, wait for a few moments before re-inserting it. This has the effect of refreshing the system without the old cellular settings. Once the SIM card is re-inserted and the phone restarted, your networks configuration should be added automatically.
If you have another phone that can work with your network, you can also try to insert the SIM card to it. This will help you check if theres an issue with the SIM card itself. If the problem returns when you use the SIM card in the second device, you either have an issue with the SIM or with the network. Try getting a new SIM card to see if its the SIM or the network.

Clean And Adjust The Sim Card
Sometimes the dirt and dust that gets accumulated on the golden side of the sim card or an improper sim placement inside the holder cause problem for the device in reading the sim card. To ensure that the sim works properly inside the holder, remove the sim tray and clean the golden side of the sim card. Additionally, ensure that the sim is properly placed inside the holder without any gaps.
Solution : Adjust The Sim Card
Your phone can only read your SIM card if the SIM card is firmly seated in its slot. If the card is dislodged or misaligned, which can occur after you drop your phone accidentally, you wont be able to connect to your carrier. Or, if your device is new, you may not have inserted the SIM card correctly. Thus, the next troubleshooting step should be removing the SIM card and inserting it back in.
While youre doing this, ensure that the SIM card fits securely into your device. If it appears loose, you may want to try placing a piece of tape, cardboard, or paper into the tray to achieve a tighter fit. Although it may appear as an unconventional fix, adjusting the SIM card in this way works for many Android users.
As a rule of thumb, you should avoid applying too much pressure when handling your phones interiors. Excessive force can damage your devices hardware and create new problems.
