Automatically Turn On/off Data When Downloading Mms

With my Galaxy S3, my girlfriend’s Galaxy S4 and her mother’s Galaxy Core, we cannot download MMS automatically. We have to turn on data before doing so.This problem is not happening with her sister’s Galaxy Ace: whenever they receive a MMS, data is automatically turned on, and then off once the MMS is downloaded.

Now, this isn’t a real problem most of the time , but my girlfriend’s mother has a very low data plan and often forgets to switch off data once the MMS is received, so she often maxes out her data plan.

I have tried something I found here: copy the existing APN and setting only “mms” as APN type, but it doesn’t work.

My girlfriend and I are Orange and her mother is Bouygues.

Thanks for your help!

Fix: Failed To Download Attachment From Multimedia Message

You may encounter the failed to download attachment message due to corrupt cache/data of the MMS service or a corrupt cache partition. Moreover, incompatible messaging applications or invalid APN settings can also cause the error message.

The affected user encounters the error when he tries to download an MMS attachment. Some users have reported facing the issue in group chats only. The error message also pops up when the user unlocks his phone or when he launches the messaging app.

This issue is tricky as it could be due to the service provider or your phone.

Before starting the troubleshooting process to download a multimedia message, make sure there is no file size limit enabled in the MMS settings. Also, check if another SIM is operating fine with your phone. If so, then the problem is with the service provider. If it is not working, then the problem is with your phone. Moreover, make sure there is no network outage in the area.

Keep in mind that a non-carrier phone may fail to download the MMS message even if Wi-Fi calling is enabled. Also, if you are just having the error message and no MMS is pending, then try to activate/deactivate the message notifications in the phone settings.Make sure you have a data plan activated for your connection. Also, if you have ever used iMessage, then deregister your number from iMessage . Last but not least, restart your device or enable/disable the Airplane Mode.

    Solution 3 Enable Download Booster

    What Is Mms Messaging

MMS stands for multimedia messaging service, and was built using the same technology as SMS text messages. While SMS was built to send short messages, MMS focuses on sending multimedia messages. Some of the rich content types which can be sent include phone contacts, audio and video files and images.

Since the explosion of camera phones in the market, picture messages have become as commonly used as SMS messaging.

Ensure you have enough data when sending messages as MMS can use a lot more data usage than regular text messages. Sending an MMS message using Wi-Fi will ensure you arent using your monthly data allowance and will speed up the process.

Your phone will need to be off airplane mode and connected to Wi-Fi or the amaysim mobile network to send MMS messages.

Does Mms Have A Character Limit

MMS messaging has no character limit but rather it has a file limit though it depends on your cell phone and network provider. Mostly you cant send a file of 5mb through mms messaging as you will have to reduce or compress the file.

But talking of character limit, mms doesnt have a character limit. The more pictures and characters you enter, the more you will be charged by your network service provider.
