Samsung Galaxy Z Fold : The Best Foldable Android Phone

Android 10 is out! – What’s New?

Weve mostly been focused on powerful and traditional Android phones so far, but now its time for something that will turn heads. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 takes the cake as the you can buy right now. While it may not be the same value buy as a Galaxy Z Flip 3, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 packs all the bells and whistles you could ever ask for.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 packs all of Samsung’s best technology into an ultra-premium package.

Its perfectly pocket-sized when folded, yet the 6.2-inch display is plenty large enough to manage just about all of your notifications. Then, when you open it up, youre treated to a massive 7.6-inch AMOLED display, complete with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features Samsungs first official crack at an under-display selfie camera, even if its not the best camera around. Youll also find a true flagship processor for the first time, in the form of Qualcomms Snapdragon 888.

Although the Galaxy Z Flip 3 shows that foldables are becoming more affordable, the shows just how far they can go. It still commands a premium price point, but it offers features you wont find anywhere else in the Samsung Galaxy.

App developers are pushing the envelope on a daily basis trying to improve and enhance our smartphone and tablet experiences. In fact, so many Android apps come out every day that its difficult to keep track of them all. Its difficult to usurp the best of the best but if youre getting bored with what youve got and want to try something new, check out the best new Android apps from the last month. Best Stock Android Phone: Google Pixel 6

Okay, so the Google Pixel 6 technically isnt stock Android, because stock Android is the bare bones open-source Android usually seen in a few entry-level budget phones from obscure brands. Instead, the Pixel 6 runs a Google-modified version of Android 12, because its Android exactly the way Google sees it. And in our opinion, this Pixel-ified experience is a far more important signifier than stock Android.

And if you want that pure Google Android experience, the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro is the phone to get. This year, not only are the phones among the first to run on the newest version of Android, but it also happens to coincide with one of the biggest Android visual overhauls in years.

The theme of this years new Android 12, at least on the Pixel, is Material You. Essentially, the Pixel 6 phones will look at your homescreen wallpaper and create a palette to color the system interface. Throughout the UI, there are whimsical Google touches, such as buttons of varying sizes and shapes.

Other than the excellent software, youre getting an excellent phone too with the Pixel 6. You get a 6.4-inch, 1080 x 2400 OLED screen that refreshes at 90Hz, along with arguably the best point-and-shoot main camera around, a 50MP sensor backed by Googles epic photo-processing algorithms. You also get a large 4,612 mAh battery and plenty of RAM to make sure the phone zips around. Add in a unique two-tone finish, and a really attractive price, and its hard to name anything else in this spot.

If youre running an Android phone, you might be wondering what the latest version of Android currently is heres everything you need to know

Googles Android platform is the most-used mobile operating system on planet earth. Today, there are around 3 billion active Android phones in operation thats over a third of the globes population.

Android has been around in one form or another since the early-2000s, but it wasnt until 2007 that things started to heat up. In 2007, the first-ever Android phone was released. And between 2007 and 2012, things picked up pace rapidly.

Google has tweaked, updated, refined, and made Android one of the best and most useful operating systems on the planet. It is more open than Apples iOS and also more customizable.

With Android, there are fewer restrictions with things like side-loading apps. And because Android is based on Linux, you can also access the kernel and make system-wide changes and customizations this is referred to as rooting.

The next big update to Googles Android platform will be Android 12 it is due to launch later on in 2021. And the Pixel 6 will be the first Android phone to run it.

While Google has now released Android 12, that update may not be available for certain phones until 2022.

You can buy plenty of smartphones that come with Android 11 pre-installed, though the update is still rolling out to older smartphones around the world. Depending on the phone you use, you might be waiting a while yet – or may never get the update.

Best Large Foldable Phone: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

In the first two years of foldable phones existence, skeptics and doubters have pointed to their high prices and supposed fragility as a sign that foldables were just a fad. Well, Samsung is here to tell the naysayers nah. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 not only managed to do what was previously thought impossible by water-proofing the device, Samsung also lowered the price by 10%. Sure, at $1,800 its still expensive, but this is a bleeding-edge portable computer that can do literally a million things. There is nothing else like it.

Thats not all when it comes to improvements. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 also improved the foldable display to make it sturdier and feel more like glass. This foldable screen also supports the S-Pen, although a separate purchase is required. The outside cover display gained a refresh rate up to 120Hz, and the overall dimensions of the phones have shrunk ever so slightly. The hard sharp corners of the previous device have been rounded, making for a foldable that, while still a bit hefty at 271g, is easier to handle and carry.

If you want a phone that can be both a tablet and a smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is hard to beat right now. If you find it a bit too big, however, then Samsung has a smaller option for you too see below.

      Android 1: Refreshed Ui

Google has announced a new Material Design language for Android 12, called Material You, which is a rethink of the whole UI across the operating system.

The current beta brings more rounded buttons, more varied colors, smoother motion and animations, and much more.

The company calls it color extraction, where you can pick a wallpaper and the system will automatically apply the dominant, complimentary and best looking colors from it to the rest of the UI, including the notification shade, the lock screen, and volume controls.

Google made it a mission to make sure that Android 12 is indeed on the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones, which feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor, improved cameras and much more.

This time, it looks as though Google have developed the phones and Android 12 in-tandem, resulting in a release that’s going to show more unification than what came before in previous Pixel phones.

So everything is much more unified this time, something which Google was keen to highlight. Before, the color scheme and even the fonts would look mismatched, but here, everything has been redesigned to look as unified as possible in Android 12.

This customizable theme is also coming to Google’s web apps by the end of the year.

Best Point And Shoot Camera Phone: Google Pixel 6 Pro

      Android 11 is Out! – What’s New?

The first three Google Pixel phones were hands-down the best still camera phones around, mostly because Googles computational photography was so far ahead of the game at the time. In the years since, other phone brands have stepped up their computational photography game. Add in the fact that Google didnt bother upgrading its camera hardware for the Pixel 4 and 5, which meant Googles phone was no longer the undisputed best camera phone around.

Google has regained the crown with the Pixel 6 Pro, because it finally upgraded camera hardware to a 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor with a large image sensor size and fast aperture. While the Pixel 6 Pro lacks the zooming prowess of a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, the awesome video capabilities of an iPhone 13 Pro, or even the all-around range of a Vivo X70 Pro Plus, its the best phone for people who just want to point their phone, tap shutter button, and then get a shot they can post to social media immediately without tweaks or edits.

Whether its scrolling through Instagram or switching apps, the Pixel 6 Pro doesnt slow down, its Googles first phone with tip-top premium hardware that can match the iPhones and Galaxy S phones of the world.

      Are Software Updates Important

It’s easy to compare displays, processors, and cameras, but something that’s just as important to talk about is software updates. Android is constantly evolving and getting better, and unfortunately, only certain phones will have a few years of software support.

As it currently stands, Google, Samsung, and OnePlus are the best in the business when supporting their phones with long-term updates. All of the Pixels, Galaxy devices, and OnePlus phones mentioned on this list are backed by at least three years of major OS updates from their initial release, which is by far the best support any Android phone maker has to offer. Google even goes a step further with five years of guaranteed monthly security patches with the Pixel 6 series, and Samsung is now pledging up to four years for its flagships.

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, you have a company like Motorola. Take the Motorola G Power , which only promised a single update to Android 11. Security patches are even worse, with Motorola having a track record of falling multiple months behind on updates.

      C Cosycost Android Tv Box

Next up we have the C Cosycost Android TV Box a model that resembles Xiaomi Mi Box S in more ways than one, offering a similar level of performance and a set of features far above its price range.

One of the most important features to note is the operating system, and the ABOX is loaded with the latest Android 11.0 OS. The original packed the Android 10.0 OS, and C Cosycost recently upgraded it with the goal to allow its customers to enjoy the latest Android apps. Although it doesnt have as many reviews as Xiaomi Mi Box S, the performance of this budget box allows it to go toe to toe with not just the Mi Box, but more expensive models as well.

Like the Xiaomi Mi Box S, the C Cosycosts Android TV Box sports native 4K resolution and supports 3D graphics, bringing a new dimension to your television viewing experience.

The hardware is pretty impressive for the price, as well. The TV box is powered by the same quad-core processor as Xiaomi Mi Box S , with the premium Mali G31 MP2 GPU to assist with 3D graphics acceleration. The GPU is formidable by all accounts, and it does a nice job of improving the overall performance of the TV box. This Android TV Box also has 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 32 GB storage drive, which can be upgraded with an additional SD card to 32 GB.

If youre looking for a decent Android TV box at a reasonable price, this is a good choice. Its not a home run, but it will get you to home plate eventually.

Android Versions 41 To : Jelly Bean

Verizon Sprint T Mobile NEWEST Cell Phones FREE With New ...

Spread across three impactful Android versions, 2012 and 2013’s Jelly Bean releases took ICS’s fresh foundation and made meaningful strides in fine-tuning and building upon it. The releases added plenty of poise and polish into the operating system and went a long way in making Android more inviting for the average user.

Visuals aside, Jelly Bean brought about our first taste of the spectacular predictive-intelligence utility that’s sadly since devolved into a glorified news feed. It gave us expandable and interactive notifications, an expanded voice search system, and a more advanced system for displaying search results in general, with a focus on card-based results that attempted to answer questions directly.

Multiuser support also came into play, albeit on tablets only at this point, and an early version of Android’s Quick Settings panel made its first appearance. Jelly Bean ushered in a heavily hyped system for placing widgets on your lock screen, too one that, like so many Android features over the years, quietly disappeared a couple years later.

If you’re one of those people who still pines for a smaller, flagship-level phone, then we have some good news for you. The ASUS ZenFone 8 delivers one of the best Android experiences you can get for much less than the competition. Plus, it’s one of the smallest Android flagships around.

Unlike the ZenFone 6 and 7 series and the ZenFone 8 Flip, the ZenFone 8 has done away with the flipping camera module in favor of a more traditional design. While this new form factor makes the device more pocketable, ASUS nonetheless retained an excellent camera setup. It also means that it is now IP68 water-resistant. In addition, the ZenFone 8 features a gorgeous AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and it even retains an old-school fan favorite with its 3.5mm headphone jack.

The ZenFone 8 has top-notch internal specs, too, including the powerful Snapdragon 888 processor, fast 20W wired charging, and one of the cleanest builds of Android we’ve seen this year. However, you miss out on wireless charging, and ASUS’s track record for updates has left us wanting in the past.

This is the perfect phone for someone who admires the size and capabilities of something like the Google Pixel 4a but who also wants a more premium and performant Android phone.
